There are over 20,000 species of Bee worldwide living in every habitat that has insect-pollinated flowering plants. The ‘Bumble Bee’ and European Honey Bee the are the best-known species in the UK although there are many more.
As a protected species, it is a forbidden by law to harm bees and their colonies. If a travelling swarm is discovered, we recommend that you contact The British Beekeepers Association directly, who can advise the best approach to removing or relocating the hive.
We advise that you not to approach the swarm or disturb the nest in anyway.
